Alaska Airlines Announces Expansion to Tulsa International Airport with Nonstop Service to Seattle and San Diego Launching Spring 2026

Friday, October 24, 2025

TULSA, OKLA – October 24, 2025 – Tulsa International Airport (TUL) announced today that Alaska Airlines will begin operations in Tulsa by offering daily, nonstop flights to both Seattle (SEA) and San Diego (SAN) beginning March 18, 2026.

Seattle and San Diego have been two of Tulsa International Airport’s top unserved markets for years, ranking as the second and third unserved destinations. These routes have been highly requested by the community, not only for leisure travel but also for the strong ties they bring to Tulsa’s aviation and aerospace sectors, tech organizations, and growing business community.

“This announcement reflects years of hard work and collaboration among the airport, city, county, chamber, and business leaders who share the same goal: expanding air service and connecting Tulsa to the world,” said Alexis Higgins, Chief Executive Officer at Tulsa International Airport. “We want to thank Alaska Airlines for recognizing the opportunity here in Tulsa and for believing in this market.”

“We’re excited to welcome Tulsa to our network, enabling us to connect our guests to the city’s unique spaces such as the Philbrook Museum of Art and Gathering Place. We look forward to linking the vibrant city with nonstop service to Seattle and San Diego – two of our key gateways to the West Coast, Hawai‘i and beyond,” said Kirsten Amrine, vice president of revenue management and network planning at Alaska Airlines.

“Alaska Airlines chose Tulsa because of the strength of our market and the power of our community working together. Tulsans fly from here, invest here, and believe in what our city can become. Air connectivity is infrastructure, and for Tulsa, it’s a signal to the world that we’re ready to compete and win,” said Tulsa Mayor Monroe Nichols.

“In 2022, the Oklahoma Legislature took a significant step forward by approving a statewide commercial air service development program designed to enhance our state’s air transportation options. This initiative will bring new direct routes to Oklahoma, creating efficient travel opportunities for businesses and citizens. Non-stop flights are essential for the business community; they often determine whether companies will choose to relocate or expand here,” said Grayson Ardies, Executive Director of the Oklahoma Department of Aerospace and Aeronautics. “We are proud of these initiatives led by the Tulsa Airports Improvement Trust and are excited to partner with them on these new routes, which will ensure that Oklahomans have increased access to fast and convenient air transportation options, complementing the already outstanding services provided by Tulsa’s commercial air service. This progress will undoubtedly bolster our efforts to attract new businesses to Oklahoma.”

"These two new routes are far more than lines on a map; they are lifelines that strengthen Tulsa’s connection to the rest of the country. Each nonstop flight we gain expands our region’s reach, enabling businesses to grow, talent to move more freely and visitors to experience all that makes Tulsa special” said Mike Neal, President & Chief Executive Officer at Tulsa Regional Chamber. "Tulsa companies with clients, vendors and partners on the West Coast will now be able to reach them more efficiently, saving both time and cost. Entrepreneurs and investors from technology-rich markets such as Seattle and San Diego can now come here more easily, experience Tulsa’s momentum firsthand, and see why so many industries — from aerospace to energy to advanced manufacturing — are choosing to invest here.”
