Healthy Incentive Grants: Communities

Application period opens Oct. 20, 2026.

About

Healthy communities make it easier for Oklahomans to live healthier lives. TSET Healthy Incentive Grants for Communities help Oklahoma cities and towns create healthier environments through policies, ordinances and projects that support tobacco-free spaces, access to healthy foods and opportunities for physical activity. These investments can help improve the health and quality of life of residents for years to come.

Funding is available for:

  • Communities with a population of 4,299 or fewer: Up to $60,000
  • Communities with a population of 4,300 or more: Up to $100,000

Funding amounts are based on the community’s population using the most recent U.S. Census data. No matching funds are required.

Communities may apply during either of two FY27 application periods:

  • Oct. 20 – Nov. 18, 2026
  • March 2 – 31, 2027

Each grant may support one project that addresses community health needs, such as walking trails, playground improvements, parks, bicycle infrastructure, community gardens, farmers’ market venues or other projects that improve access to healthy living opportunities.

Projects must be located on property owned by the applicant, be open and accessible to the public and be completed within one year. Communities that receive an award are eligible for HIG for Communities funding once every three fiscal years.

Eligible applications are considered on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to available funding and approval by the TSET Board of Directors.
