Annual Art Contest

Here’s a chance to show your artistic, imaginative, and creative talent with an ORIGINAL AND POSITIVE poster/slogan design about solutions for Oklahoma’s litter problems. Win CASH and help Oklahoma “KEEP OUR LAND GRAND!”

All Oklahoma students in grades K - 12 may participate.

1. The message must be positive and offer a solution to Oklahoma’s litter problem.
2. Artwork should be landscape and no larger than 8.5" x 11".
3. All artwork and slogans must be the student’s ORIGINAL work. Pictures amd/or photocopies will not be accepted.
4. The FULLY COMPLETED ENTRY FORM should be attached to the back of the artwork.
5. Spelling, grammar, poster message, and the ability to digitize are all factors in the judges' decisions. Consider using easy-to-read lettering, high contrast, and bright colors on paper or posterboard.
6. Write student’s first initial and last name directly on the back of the artwork.

• Glue, glitter, or any attachments
• Student’s name, signature, or year on the front of the poster
• Syndicated, copyrighted, clipart, or Canva images or characters
  • For example, cartoon or anime/manga characters and sports figures
• Name brands, company/team names, or company/team logos including Universities
• Artificial Intelligence (AI), computer-generated art
• Profanity
• Profanity, inappropriate or explicit content

Complete the entire entry form, which can be downloaded below (and may be photocopied). All artwork entries must be submitted by the contest deadline to your local county courthouse.

Local County Prizes:

Some local sponsors may also offer additional prizes, but those vary by county. 1st-, 2nd-, and 3rd-place winners from each county will all receive a certificate, and their posters will be submitted for state-level judging. 

State Prizes:

State student and teacher winners are announced and honored at an awards event. Teachers of these state winners may receive vouchers (depending on availability) for a one-night stay at an Oklahoma State Park, and funds to purchase classroom/school art supplies.

Each of the 14 state winners will receive a cash prize for the amounts listed below, an award certificate, and a t-shirt featuring their artwork.

• Postcard: $200
• Grade-categories (K-2, 3-5, 6-8, 9-12): 1st place: $300, 2nd place: $200, 3rd place: $100

State winners and teachers are honored at a mid-March awards event at the ODOT Building in Oklahoma City. The winning students are also introduced to the Oklahoma State House of Representatives and the Oklahoma Senate at the State Capitol that same day. All state winners and their teachers will receive proper notification before the date of the event.
