This event has passed.

Description

This comprehensive training covers best practices for prosecuting child sexual abuse cases and using physical and digital evidence to corroborate challenging cases within an MDT framework. The training will be conducted in two parts, in-person. In the first half of the day, we will cover best practices for child sexual abuse prosecution, focusing on the specialized nature of these cases within an MDT. Topics include the importance of hearsay and other crime evidence, the use of pretrial motions, preparing a child for courtroom testimony, sentencing considerations, and more. In the second half, we will use physical and digital evidence to support difficult cases. This session will explore how police and prosecutors can look beyond traditional witnesses to present compelling, corroborating evidence. Continuing education units are approved for CLE, CLEET, VWC, and LADC. Please note that this training will not be recorded. *This is a free training. However, participants are responsible for their travel, lodging, and meals.
