ChildFirst is a flexible forensic interviewing model that takes a holistic approach to child abuse investigations by exploring all forms of maltreatment and provides a safety screening for poly-victimization. ChildFirst is the most widely used forensic interviewing protocol in the United States and is nationally recognized and approved by the National Children’s Alliance. It is designed for use by members of a multidisciplinary team, investigators, and forensic interviewers. This training will provide an overview of forensic interviewing and the ChildFirst model. Participants will learn about the child abuse forensic interview including basic components. Further, participants will learn the primary components of the 5-day ChildFirst model and training requirements. This training does not provide training on implementing forensic interviewing.
