Continuing Education

The current reporting period is July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2027.

  • Dentist - Will need to complete 40 hrs.  Below are required:
    • 2 hrs of Opioids
    • BLS / CPR
    • Ethics
  • Hygienist - Will need to complete 20 hrs. Below are required:
    • BLS / CPR
    • Ethics
  • Dental Assistants - 2 hours of infection control continuing education credits for a regular dental assistant permit. A dental assistant with an oral maxillofacial surgery expanded duty permit shall complete eight (8) hours of continuing education every two (2) years in classes approved by AAOMS that are certified by the American Dental Association CERP program or another program approved by the Board. The continuing education requirement shall include at least one (1) hour on infection control and BLS.

  • For assistance with logging in, please call the Help Desk at (405) 521-2444. The Board Office does not have any access to usernames or passwords.
  • If you have questions about anything else, feel free to call the Board Office during normal business hours.  
  • Please keep in mind our office is very small staffed with 2 office staff, and there are about 13,000 licensees and permit holders. Emailing the Board Office can most often get a faster response than calling, especially during renewal period and close to the CE Deadline. 

On July 1, 2025, the Board of Dentistry began using CE Broker for all CE entries. To log your hours, go to www.cebroker.com.  If you have a specialty only license issued prior to the April 18, 2025, Board Meeting, you were sent an email with your CE Broker number.

Frequently Asked Questions

Your total number of hours should include your BLS and Ethics.  

Make sure you report this accurately so that when we run a compliance report at the end of the reporting period, you will show as compliant!  Your BLS course is hour for hour.

  • Live, in-person cardiopulmonary resuscitation class approved by the Board

BLS / CPR courses must have the live hands-on compression section to be accepted. Hybrid courses are accepted.

Yes.  If you have not already taken one, you may take a free online Ethics course at www.dentalethics.org. 

This reporting period began July 1, 2025 and ends June 30, 2027.  All hours must be reported no later than June 30, 2027 into the online system.

On July 1, 2025, the Board of Dentistry began using CE Broker for all CE entries. To log your hours, go to www.cebroker.com.  If you have a specialty only license issued prior to the April 18, 2025, Board Meeting, you were sent an email with your CE Broker number.

You will enter all continuing education hours into your CE Broker account.  This does require that you upload a certificate from the course you took.   CE Broker will show the total number hours entered and accepted for the cycle. 

Reminders

  • Hours
    • Hours cannot rollover
    • Only hours accrued in the current reporting period may be reported for CE credit.
    • All hours will be reported into your CE Broker account.  (You no longer need to call the Board to find out how many hours you have left.)
  • Requirements
    Failure to report your required CE will result in a $1,000 fine for dentists and a $500 fine for dental hygienists, and you will still be required to make-up the hourly shortage before you may begin reporting for the next reporting period.
  • Reporting System
    The online reporting system is run on an “honor system,” therefore the Board will be conducting an audit at the end of the reporting period.  Should your license number get chosen for an audit, the board will get copies of your certificates from your CE Broker account and may ask for more information from you.  Reporting courses not taken could result in disciplinary action against your license by the Board.
  • Sign In
    The Board is no longer saving sign in sheets. Course sponsor sign in sheets submitted to the Board does NOT mean your hours have been reported for you.  You are still required to login and report your hours.  Should you get audited, you will be required to submit verification of course completion.
