About the Broadband Office

The Oklahoma Broadband Office (OBO) is responsible for implementing the State Broadband Plan which includes making reliable, affordable, high-speed internet available throughout the state.

The OBO, with oversight from the Broadband Governing Board and advice from the Broadband Expansion Council, creates and administers grant program funding to achieve Oklahoma’s aggressive broadband internet goal by June 2028.  The State of Oklahoma is investing approximately $1.3 billion in state and federal funding for broadband infrastructure and accessibility.

Proposed Rules OPEN for Public Comment

The following rule changes are now OPEN for comment. The written public comment period will close at 5 p.m. on Friday, November 1, 2024.  Written comments may be submitted by email to  broadband@broadband.ok.gov. Written comments may also be hand delivered to the agency during regular business hours or via regular mail at the following address: Oklahoma Broadband Office, 301 NW 63rd Street., Suite 200, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73116

A public hearing will be held for the following rules prior to consideration for adoption by the Broadband Governing Board. The time and location of the hearing is detailed below. Anyone wishing to speak must sign in at the door of the hearing room prior to the start of the hearing. Time limitations may be imposed on oral presentations to ensure that everyone who desires to make oral comments will have an opportunity to do so.

If approved by the Governing Board, the rule changes will then be submitted to the Oklahoma Legislature for review during the 2025 legislative session. Administrative rule changes must be approved by the Legislature or the Governor to go into effect.
