TSET Board Approves Nearly $2 Million in Community Health Grants Across Oklahoma
The Tobacco Settlement Endowment Trust (TSET) Board of Directors approved nearly $2 million to support community health projects across Oklahoma.
The funding was approved at the board’s regular meeting on February 20 and includes support through TSET Built Environment Grants and TSET Healthy Incentive Grants. These grants make it easier for people to eat healthy foods and be physically active in the communities where they live, learn and gather.
“Whether it’s improving school cafeterias or helping local food programs grow, these projects remove barriers to good health,” said Julie Bisbee, TSET executive director. “When people have access to healthy food and safe places to be active, it helps build healthier communities and a stronger future for Oklahoma.”
TSET Built Environment Grants
The board approved $1.5 million over two years for projects that improve access to healthy food through schools and community programs. Projects are expected to begin April 1.

“These grants focus on long-term benefits,” said Ken Rowe, chair of the TSET Board of Directors. “Improving everyday places helps people build healthy habits that last.”
TSET funding comes from earnings from the Master Settlement Agreement with tobacco companies and is used to improve health across Oklahoma. These investments help lower health care costs and improve quality of life for communities statewide.
