Telepsychology/Out of State Practice
The Oklahoma Board of Psychology statutes allow out-of-state practice for five days upon notification to the Board office. Notification should be sent to the Executive Director - boardstaff@psychology.ok.gov

9. The activities and services of a nonresident of this state who renders consulting or other psychological services if such activities and services are rendered for a period which does not exceed in the aggregate more than five (5) days during any year and if the nonresident is authorized pursuant to the laws of the state or country of the person's residence to perform these activities and services. Such a person shall inform the Board prior to the initiation of services;
Should more than the five days allowed by Oklahoma law be needed you may:
- Consider obtaining a license to practice in Oklahoma,
- Contact the Oklahoma Psychological Association for a referral to an Oklahoma licensed psychologist,
- Or consider obtaining an E.Passport certificate to practice under the Psychology Interjurisdictional Compact (PSYPACT), an interstate compact designed to facilitate the practice of telepsychology and the temporary in-person, face-to-face practice of psychology across state boundaries.
NOTICE OF PSYPACT PROPOSED RULEMAKING:
The Psychology Interjurisdictional Compact (PSYPACT) Commission has published Proposed Rules for consideration and comment. The Proposed Rules can be found HERE.
The proposed rules are being considered to:
- Add a mechanism for the formula used to assess the Annual Assessment fees being charged to the states to be reviewed and modified by the PSYPACT Commission as needed.
- Ensure the maximum Annual Assessment fee is set at no greater than $6,000 per jurisdiction.
These Proposed Rules are open for a 60-day public comment period for stakeholders who wish to provide comments. Written comments may be submitted to the PSYPACT Commission via the PSYPACT website (https://psypact.gov/page/PublicComment). The deadline for submission of written comments is February 20, 2026.
- Adopted by the Board on September 11, 2020 - for psychologists to use as a resource when providing telepsychology services to clients in Oklahoma.
