SALES ASSOCIATE TO MANAGING BROKER

Please see the list below for a step by step guide to upgrade your license from Sales Associate to Managing Broker. 

1) Ensure you have at least two years experience of Sales Associate licensure. Licensure completed as a Provisional Sales Associate does not count towards the required experience. You may review your licensure information on the Public Registry

2) Complete the 90-hour pre-license broker course. All coursework is valid for three years from the completion date. You may review a list of approved course providers here

3) Complete the 15-hour Broker in Charge course. You may review approved courses here

4) Complete the Transaction Experience Waiver form. You may download the form here

5) Complete a license type change request through the License Portal

6) Pass the Broker examination. 

7) After passing the broker examination, log back into the License Portal, complete the remaining items under the License Type Change request, and complete the payment to upgrade your license to Managing Broker.

OPENING A NEW BUSINESS ENTITY

Step 1) Create a Business Application profile using a unique e-mail address that is not registered with any other Business Portal account. 

Step 2) Obtain a Certificate of Incorporation or Articles of Organization from the Oklahoma Secretary of State website

This document must be obtained, even if the business entity is registered with another state. To register a foreign organization, click here

Step 3) Obtain a Certificate of Good Standing from the Oklahoma Secretary of State website

This document must be obtained, even if the business entity is registered with another state. 

Step 4) Complete a brokerage application through the Business Application Portal. Click here to apply now.
