Each day, dedicated Child Welfare Services staff work to safeguard the wellbeing of Oklahoma’s children by ensuring they are safe, supported and surrounded by care. Our mission is rooted in compassion, protection, and hope. Because we believe that strong families build strong communities,  and we actively expand partnerships across the state to help families grow stronger and more resilient.

We champion initiatives that create nurturing environments where every child feels connected to their community, culture and heritage. These meaningful ties are essential to a child’s sense of identity and belonging.

To safely minimize a family’s level of child welfare involvement er provide families with critical support as early as possible. We continue working with other child serving agencies and community partners to expand access to behavioral health resources and other services families need for lifelong success.

Above all, we uphold the fundamental right of every child to thrive in a stable, loving family. We work tirelessly to connect children and families to the vital services they need fostering healthy development and emotional wellbeing.

This year, a federal court declared Oklahoma Human Services had fulfilled its obligations under the Compromise and Settlement Agreement that brought forward the state's Pinnacle Plan. While the agency is no longer subject to the oversight of child welfare monitors, we remain steadfast in our commitment to continuous improvement and transparency, ensuring the transformative strides made under the Pinnacle Plan are sustained for years to come.
