Child Care Services

What We Do

Child Care Services (CCS) is responsible for the regulation and inspection of licensed child care centers and homes, residential facilities, and child-placing agencies in Oklahoma. We assist child care providers to improve the quality of their programs through supportive services and resources, and launched a new Child Care Locator to help parents find quality child care. Funding for Child Care Services is provided through the federal Child Care Development Block Grant.

Our department goals are focused on improving the quality of, and access to, child care programs statewide. We achieve those goals by enhancing a high-quality workforce and improving our collaboration with child care business owners. Federal COVID relief funds were used to stabilize the child care industry and expand child care in underserved areas using child care desert grants to help providers open or expand their programs. Low-income families can apply for assistance with child care costs through the child care subsidy program.
