An applicant is an individual who has not yet established eligibility to sit for the Uniform CPA examination through submission of an Eligibility Application.

A candidate is an individual who has submitted an Eligibility Application and received an official approval email with instructions on how to begin testing for the CPA examination.

The Application Portal can be used by new applicants to submit an initial application for eligibility to sit for the CPA examination or to transfer examination credits from another jurisdiction. Established candidates may use the portal to apply for the different sections of the exam throughout their testing.
