New APRN Certification Examination for Initial Licensure

The Board's Advanced Practice Advisory Committee (APAC) reviewed a new APRN certification examination and recommended its approval to the OK Board of Nursing. The full Board voted to approve the APAC recommendation at it's September/October 2025 Board meeting and added a new examination to the list of approved APRN certification examinations for initial licensure. The new examination is: Psychiatric & Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) certification examination by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board (AANPCB).
