NOTICE OF SCAM

The Board has received reports of a scam targeting Oklahoma nurses. The scam involves the offender impersonating agency staff in “Official Notice” letters which purport to warn the recipient that his or her license has been suspended. The scammers use our logo, address, and contact information, as well as the logo and contact information of the U.S. Department of Justice.

If you receive a “notice of suspension” or correspondence purporting to be from this agency you did not expect, please contact us to verify the legitimacy of the communication. Board staff are aware of the issue and will understand your request.

The purpose of the Formulary Advisory Council is to: 1. Develop and submit to the Board recommendations for an exclusionary formulary that shall list drugs or categories of drugs that shall not be prescribed by advanced practice nurses recognized to prescribe by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing. 2. Develop and submit to the Board recommendations for practice-specific prescriptive standards for each category of advanced practice nurse recognized to prescribe by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing pursuant to the provisions of the Oklahoma Nursing Practice Act.
