Oklahoma Fire Department Reporting

NERIS Onboarding for Oklahoma is in July 2025

To contact the Oklahoma State Program Manager for OFIRS, NFIRS, or NERIS - please contact FDreporting@fire.ok.gov

The National Fire Incident Reporting System (NFIRS) was established in 1975 and although it has been updated as much as it can, can no longer support the needs of the American fire service. 2025 will be the last year NFIRS will be used. It is being decomissioned and both it and the data it stores will NO LONGER BE ACCESSIBLE AFTER 2025.

Please confirm your department has incidents stored at the local level for any historical data, records requests, and/or grant applications. Individual incident records are not stored at the state or federal levels. Once NFIRS is shut down, the data cannot be retrieved by anyone at any level.

Please visit the U.S. Fire Administration's site to learn more about the transition from NFIRS to NERIS. - NFIRS Sunset

If a department's incidents are not stored outside of NFIRS, this document can advise how to export incident data from eNFIRS. - Info Sheet Download

HB 1052, requiring all fire departments in the State of Oklahoma to report their incident data through NERIS, will become law on November 1, 2025.
