Consolidated National Criminal History Improvement Program (CNCHIP)
Beginning in the fiscal year 2025, funding for the NARIP, NCHIP, and NCHIPSFBSCA programs have been combined together to formulate the Consolidated National Criminal History Improvement Program (CNCHIP) grant program. The purpose of the program is to reduce violent crime and address gun violence by improving the accuracy, utility, and interstate accessibility of criminal history and related records in support of national record systems and their use for name- and fingerprint-based criminal history background checks.
BOARD PRIORITIES: The Criminal Jusice Information Systems Task Force, comprised of ten members uses a consensus decision-making process in determining the use of the grant funds.

- Government Entities
- State governments
- Native American Tribal governments (federally recognized)
- Other
- Courts: The state central administrative office or similar entity designated by statute or regulation to administer federal grant funds on behalf of the jurisdiction’s court system.
