The Comanche County Sheriff’s Office in partnership with Dark Watch Tactical will be hosting a SWAT school. This course provides skill sets, techniques and tactics that meet modern industry standards as set forth by the National Tactical Officer’s Association and encompasses a wide variety of facets employed by SWAT teams and law enforcement first responders. This course will build the students from the ground up. The course will provide instruction on mission templates and planning, leadership and team structure, single to three or more operator movement, breaching techniques, active shooter response, slow and deliberate/dynamic entry techniques, room clearing, low light techniques, and tactical medicine. Also covered will be combat pistol and rifle shooting, low light shooting, downed officer drills, ballistic shield operation, move/shoot and communicate techniques, less lethal and diversionary device instruction, full scale warrant service training on multiple structures, vehicle/linear bus assaults, barricaded subject, and hostage rescue. Throughout this school students will be involved in force-on-force scenario-based training. Upon completion of this school the student will have a good understanding of SWAT operations and law enforcement response to critical incidents. The course will be broken down over 4 Wednesdays. This course is recommended for law enforcement officers and first responders that are not assigned to a SWAT team.
