Application of a Search Warrant

OSBI will present an overview of the state statutes, federal statutes, and important language commonly used to apply for and serve a search warrant when needed. It will also look at several different templates used for a variety of Search Warrants, including residences, electronic devices, financial records, social media, Title 18 Subscriber information subpoenas, Multi-County Grand Jury Subpoenas, and preservation letters. The following topics will be covered: • Discuss and define the Oklahoma State Statutes outlining the application and procedures of a Search Warrant. • Discuss and define the United States Federal Code pertinent to the Search Warrant application and procedures. • Educate students on the different applicable types of search warrants, court orders, preservation letters, and their templates and outlines.
