COURSE INFORMATION

100% participation is required and a minimum of one 70% score on a (slug and 00) qualification course to pass.  Up to seven attempts will be given.

If you do not have 100% participation and/or if you do not have at least one minimum 70% score on a qualification course, you will not receive CLEET credit for attending the 22-hour course. 

Classroom lecture will begin promptly at 0700 hours at the CLEET training center classroom #112.  Bring a notebook, writing instrument and your UNLOADED Shotgun and Shotgun cleaning equipment.  Do not bring any live ammo into the classroom. 

The course will include, but not limited to, the following topics of instruction:  Shotgun Marksmanship Fundamentals, Range Safety, Shotgun Care and Maintenance, Shotgun Handling 

EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS

  • Notebook, Writing Instrument, and marker
  • Pump Action Shotgun; Remington 870 or Mossberg 500/590 with sling and sidesaddle or cuff 
  • Ammunition (minimum) 150 Birdshot, 100 00Buck (35 must be 9 pellet), 75 Slug 
  • All rounds may not be fired, after the sconed qual over 70% they will not be required too qual anymore.  Up to seven will be given for those who need them  
  • Weapon mounted light (preferred but optional)
  • Handheld flashlight 
  • Duty Pistol with a minimum of 3 magazines
  • Duty rig for pistol, with magazine pouches
  • 25 Rounds of pistol ammunition  
  • Ground pad (recommended)
  • Eye Protection
  • Hearing Protection
  • Hat (ball cap or boonie style)
  • Knee and elbow pads (recommended)
  • Folding chair (optional)
  • Comfortable clothing and any applicable rain gear and/or sunscreen
  • Cleaning equipment for both shotgun and pistols 
  • Water (bottle or camel back type)
