LASER – Law Enforcement Active Shooter Emergency Response - Direct Delivery
Description
The Law Enforcement Active Shooter Emergency Response (LASER) course is designed to provide participants with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to rapidly deploy and neutralize violent offenders during active shooter incidents or mass casualty incidents in order to prevent the loss of innocent lives. Topics covered during the classroom instruction include the evolution of active shooter incidents, providing valuable lessons to law enforcement officers of any experience level regarding response to an active shooter attack. Classroom instruction covers the planning and implementation of appropriate response measures to achieve the primary goal of stopping a perpetrator in order to protect innocent lives. Participants will also observe and then carry out entry and clearing techniques based on various response team sizes and structural configurations. In addition, the course briefly addresses medical concerns often encountered during an active shooter incident. The class stresses fundamental considerations that, when applied, can significantly improve response efforts.
