Report Writing - Preparing Reports for Prosecution
Description
This course will be a four-hour CLEET continuing education course intended for Certified Peace Officers. The course will cover various topics related to writing credible, clear, and effective reports. Information will be presented in a lecture environment. Information will be presented to attendees regarding where the report begins and ends. Often in Law Enforcement the report begins well before law enforcement becomes involved. The course will cover formatting tips for ODIS reports and criminal affidavits.
Attendees will learn how to search for elements of crimes, the jury instructions for crimes, and what Prosecutors expect when criminal reports are submitted to them for prosecution.
