In these trainings, Safenet Services discusses steps in which law enforcement can prevent domestic violence homicide by completing lethality assessments, dominant aggressor assessments and self-defense determinations. Also, we will discuss officer safety and risk factors for both law enforcement and victims and/or their children. We discuss the different roles that victim service agencies have and our desire to partner with law enforcement to create a more united front to reduce the amount of domestic violence homicides in the state of Oklahoma. We will also discuss what trauma looks like in victims of domestic violence and what happens to the brain during a traumatic event, different types of batterers, ways to identify them and what Safenet is doing to prevent further battering. We are offering a morning session and an evening session. Food will be provided for both.
