Motor vehicle crashes are on the increase and every year more and more vehicles are introduced making crowded highways and streets even more crowded. Participants will learn from an experienced investigator and trainer who has been teaching MVA crash investigation to officers for over 25 years. CLASS OBJECTIVES: 1. Identify and list the necessary equipment to conduct an investigation. 2. Recognize the types of damage in a MVA crash and how they relate. 3. Recognize and properly use methods to find the coefficient of friction between a tire and the surface it is sliding over. 4. Center of mass braking percentages. 5. Identify and find differences in grade and superelevation. 6. Identify mathematical formulas to determine minimum estimated speeds. 7. Recognize and utilize mathematical formulas to determine speeds from a YAW mark
