FTO Update/Refresher
Description
The FTO Update/Refresher Course is an intensive 8-hour training designed to reinforce and enhance the knowledge, skills, and instructional abilities of active Field Training Officers. The course offers a comprehensive review of core FTO responsibilities, contemporary training strategies, legal and policy updates, and best practices for evaluating and mentoring probationary personnel. Through a combination of lecture, discussion, and scenario-based activities, participants will refine their ability to coach, observe, and assess trainee performance in a structured and defensible manner. Emphasis is placed on effective communication, leadership in the training environment, ethical decision-making, and maintaining consistency and objectivity within the FTO program.
