Blow the Dust Of Your Shotgun

Description

HiTS First Responder Shotgun is a course designed to develop physical skill and technical understanding of the shotgun and its place in the modern law enforcement. The shotgun has a more narrow application than the pistol or carbine. However, when employed properly, it retains specific capabilities that neither of the other systems can offer. The shotgun can give you unmatched terminal ballistics, more effective interdiction against vehicles, and extreme versatility, among a litany of other advantages to be discussed. Topics will include: mindset/philosophy of use for the shotgun, proper setup, ammunition selection, patterning, technical manipulations to use and keep a gauge running, and techniques for optimizing the shotgun in CQB. - A reliable pump action or semi-automatic shotgun (recommended models include the Remington 870 and Mossberg 500/590 for pump action, and the Beretta 1301/A300, Benelli M1/M2/M3/M4 for semi-auto) - Recommended (but not required) accessories are a receiver or stock-mounted side saddle for ammunition, and a one or two point sling - 200 Rounds of target birdshot (#7.5 shot is typically recommended. Ammo must be lead only, no steel shot – it creates a safety issue when shooting steel targets - 10 rounds of quality buckshot - 10 rounds of slugs
