OBN K9 Basic Handler 160 Hour Certification Course

An intensive four-week program designed to prepare law enforcement officers and their canine partners for safe, effective, and legally defensible operational deployments. The course provides comprehensive instruction in canine behavior and learning theory, obedience, odor detection, search techniques, patrol operations, use of force considerations (for dual purpose teams), case law, report writing, record keeping, canine health and care, equipment selection, and team tactics. Through a combination of classroom instruction and extensive practical exercises, handlers develop the skills necessary to train, deploy, and maintain a reliable mission ready K9 team while meeting CLEET certification standards and industry best practices.
