First Responder Financial Readiness

The Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office is proud to host “First Responder Financial Readiness,” an 8-hour CLEET accredited course designed specifically for law enforcement professionals and their families. This course addresses one of the most overlooked areas affecting officer wellness, career longevity, stress management, and retirement preparedness: financial readiness. The training will cover:• Financial decision-making throughout a law enforcement career• Retirement planning considerations• Common financial pitfalls affecting first responders• Long-term family preparedness• Stress and mental wellness associated with financial instability• Building sustainable financial habits for career and post-career success. The course is instructed by retired Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Ken Stafford, who brings over 26 years of law enforcement experience and extensive work with officers across Oklahoma. This training is appropriate for patrol personnel, supervisors, tactical operators, command staff, reserve deputies, and spouses/significant others. In today’s profession, operational readiness extends beyond tactics alone. Financial stability and family preparedness directly impact officer wellness, stress management, and long-term success both on and off duty. Spouses are welcome to attend.
