Stopping Online Child Predators
Description
With the rapid growth of social media use among youth, online predators are increasingly targeting underage victims for sexual exploitation. Law enforcement must take a proactive role in combating these predators. This course equips law enforcement officers with the tools and strategies needed to conduct effective undercover online chatting and sting operations. Participants will learn how to create undercover personas, navigate current chat applications and lingo, and execute successful sting operations. These topics are covered through a slide presentation, lecture, discussion and practical application. Students will leave prepared to implement these techniques with their own agencies.
