Minimum Requirements
1. All applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
-Must be 21 years of age prior to date of hire
-Have no felony convictions
-Possess a valid Oklahoma Driver's License, with acceptable driving record
-Possess a High School Diploma or G.E.D. Certificate
- Applicants for a Rush Springs Police Officer must Reside within a 30 mile radius of the Town of Rush Springs

Key Responsibilities
Patrol services include, but are not limited to:
A. Responding to emergency calls for service
B. Apprehending criminal offenders
C. Providing mutual aid and assistance to other agencies for emergency and law enforcement related activities only upon approval by the Chief Of Police and/or the Asst. Chief of Police or other designated supervisor of the Rush Springs Police Department.
D. Preventing criminal acts, traffic violations and collisions, maintaining public order and discovering hazardous situations or conditions.
E. Responding to routine reports of both criminal and non- criminal acts.
F. Responding to routine calls for service, such as public assistance or public safety.
G. Directing or controlling traffic.
H. Carrying out crime prevention activities, such as residential inspections, business inspections, and community presentations.
I. Carrying out community-oriented policing and problem-solving activities, including the application of resources to improve or resolve specific problems or situations and contacting or assisting members of the public in a positive way.
J. Providing courthouse/courtroom security, including the operation physical security equipment, searches of individuals and development of high-risk trial plans and emergency evacuation plans.
