| Key Responsibilities |
| • The Officers perform law enforcement functions on district properties. The Officers patrol all district properties as directed or required. • In addition, the Officers provide service and assistance to the patrons and the employees of the district as needed and perform other duties as assigned by the Chief of Police. • Officers assigned to the secondary schools patrol the buildings and grounds of the campus to which they are assigned. The Officers are charged with paying special attention to identifying strangers on campus and potential security problems. These Officers will strive to provide a safe learning environment by coordinating activities between the schools and the Police Department. • Roaming Officer will be responsible for performing building and perimeter checks for all Elementary and specialized schools within their assigned zone. They will answer calls of service for their assigned schools and aid other officers as needed within their assigned zone. • Officers are required to provide event security during sporting events, dances, and other school-sanctioned events. These events may require an officer to be assigned at the last minute due to a late notification. • LPSPD officers provide policing services for the Lawton Public School District, comprising of 25 seperate educational facilities spread out accross the Lawton metro area. Officers are expected to patrol both on foot and in assigned patrol vehicles. |
