• Must obtain Oklahoma Law Enforcement Telecommunications System (OLETS)
certification
• Must complete Federal Law Enforcement Training Center Telecommunications
Training
Officer:
• Must submit to and pass the applicable drug test, medical physical, written
examination, Physical Efficiency Battery, and psychological examination.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must possess a valid Driver’s License
• Must successfully clear an extensive criminal background inquiry
• Must gain Police Certifications from the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center
and the Council on Law Enforcement Education and Training
Key Responsibilities
Dispatcher:
The Dispatcher is responsible for simultaneously operating a multi-channel radio
console and a multi-line telephone, while maintaining computer-aided dispatch
systems and other computer systems. Responsible for receiving, coordinating and
disseminating critical information from various sources and maintaining radio contact
with mobile/field units to monitor response, progress and any needed support. This
position works in the communications center of the police station which is responsible
for answering emergency calls in a 24/7 operation
Police Officer:
• Patrol tribal lands, trust properties, and assigned jurisdictions to preserve public
safety, prevent crime, and enforce tribal, federal, state, and applicable local laws.
• Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls for service, including crimes in
progress, domestic disturbances, traffic collisions, medical emergencies, and public
safety incidents.
• Conduct preliminary and follow-up criminal investigations, interview victims,
witnesses, and suspects, and collect, preserve, and document evidence.
• Prepare accurate, thorough, and timely reports, affidavits, citations, and other
required documentation in accordance with departmental policies and legal standards.
• Enforce traffic laws, investigate motor vehicle collisions, issue citations and
warnings, and assist with traffic control during emergencies and special events.
• Execute arrest warrants, conduct lawful arrests, transport detainees, and process
prisoners in accordance with tribal, state, and federal laws.
• Testify in Tribal, State, and Federal courts regarding investigations, arrests, and
enforcement actions.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with tribal members, community
organizations, and partner agencies through community-oriented policing initiatives.
• Maintain proficiency in firearms, defensive tactics, emergency vehicle operations,
first aid/CPR, de-escalation techniques, and other required law enforcement skills.
• Operate department vehicles, communications equipment, body-worn cameras, and
other law enforcement equipment safely and effectively.
• Participate in required training to maintain certifications.
• Perform other related law enforcement duties as assigned by supervisory personnel.
Salary/ Compensation
Dispacher:
• Starting pay $17.34 hour
