| Minimum Requirements |
| Police officers with the Gore Police Department are responsible for protecting life and property, enforcing local ordinances and Oklahoma state laws, responding to calls for service, and maintaining a visible and professional presence in the community. Officers are expected to serve with integrity, fairness, and professionalism while building positive relationships with citizens, businesses, schools, and other public safety agencies. ⸻ Job Duties Duties may include, but are not limited to: * Patrol assigned areas within the Town of Gore. * Respond to calls for service, emergencies, complaints, disturbances, and accidents. * Enforce state laws, traffic laws, and municipal ordinances. * Conduct traffic stops and issue citations or warnings when appropriate. * Investigate crimes, suspicious activity, crashes, and ordinance violations. * Prepare accurate reports, citations, arrest reports, witness statements, and daily activity logs. * Make arrests when necessary and transport prisoners safely. * Serve warrants, subpoenas, and other legal documents as assigned. * Assist citizens, motorists, businesses, schools, and other agencies. * Conduct business checks, extra patrols, welfare checks, and community contacts. * Collect, preserve, and document evidence according to department procedures. * Testify in court and attend required court hearings. * Operate department vehicles and equipment safely and responsibly. * Maintain assigned patrol vehicle, equipment, uniform, and issued gear. * Follow department policies, procedures, lawful orders, and training requirements. * Communicate professionally with the public, coworkers, dispatch, court personnel, and other agencies. * Work days, nights, weekends, holidays, and special events as needed. |
| Key Responsibilities |
| Preferred Qualifications Preferred applicants may have: * Current or previous CLEET certification. * Previous law enforcement experience. * Military, corrections, dispatch, security, or other public safety experience. * Strong report-writing skills. * Strong communication and conflict-resolution skills. * Ability to work independently with limited supervision. * Good judgment and decision-making skills. * A strong desire to serve the public. * A professional attitude and willingness to be part of a team. CLEET certification is preferred but not required unless otherwise stated by the department. ⸻ Work Environment The Gore Police Department serves a small-town community where officers are expected to be visible, approachable, and involved. Officers must be able to work with citizens from all backgrounds and handle calls with professionalism, patience, and fairness. This position requires the ability to work independently, solve problems, and represent the Town of Gore in a positive and professional manner. |
| Salary/Compensation (if available) |
| Pay Full-Time Officer: $19.00 – $23.50 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. Part-Time Officer: $17.00 – $19.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. |
