| Minimum Requirements |
| • At least 21 years old • U.S. citizen • High school diploma or GED • Valid driver’s license • No felony convictions (or disqualifying misdemeanors) • Pass background investigation • Pass physical fitness test • Pass medical and psychological evaluations • Pass drug screening • Must be able to complete CLEET-certified police academy training Preferred Requirements: • Prior law enforcement or corrections experience • CLEET certification (already completed) • Strong communication and people skills • Clean driving and work history • CPR/First Aid certification |
| Key Responsibilities |
| • Patrol assigned areas to prevent crime and ensure public safety • Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls for service • Enforce laws and ordinances (traffic, criminal, local codes) • Conduct investigations (gather evidence, interview witnesses, write reports) • Make arrests and issue citations when necessary • Testify in court and prepare legal documentation • Maintain detailed and accurate reports of incidents and activities • Provide assistance to the public (directions, welfare checks, community support) • Handle traffic control and accident scenes • De-escalate conflicts and manage difficult situations safely • Work collaboratively with other agencies (EMS, fire, courts) • Maintain equipment and readiness (vehicle, weapons, gear) |
