| Minimum Requirements |
| • Must be 21-45 years of age • Must have High School Diploma or GED • Must have valid Oklahoma Driver License and acceptable driving record • C.L.E.E.T. certified preferred but not required • Must reside within 20 minutes of Dickson Police Department (negotiable) • No felony convictions, prior protective orders, domestic violence, or other crimes of violent natures. • If you have prior military service, must be honorable discharge • Must be able to work all shifts, holidays, and weekends • Must have clear MMPI or be able to pass • Must pass OPPRS Physical Exam and background check and POSSE Test |
| Key Responsibilities |
| Patrol and Prevention: Patrols areas by vehicle, foot, or bicycle to prevent crime, check business/residential security, and detect suspicious activity. Law Enforcement & Arrests: Identifies, pursues, and apprehends suspects violating state or municipal laws. Emergency Response: Responds to calls for assistance, such as domestic disturbances, crimes in progress, and accidents. Criminal Investigations: Investigates incidents by gathering evidence, interviewing victims and witnesses, and interrogating suspects. Traffic Control: Enforces traffic laws, directs traffic, investigates accidents, and administers breathalyzers. |

| • Insurance (Heath, Dental, Vision, Accidental) • Oklahoma Police Pension and Retirement System (OPPRS) • Certified starting pay $19.50 an hour or based on experience. • Uncertified starting pay $18.50 an hour • Vacation Leave, Holiday Leave, Personal Time Leave, Sick Leave • Compensation Time available • Take home vehicle program once approved by the Chief of Police |
