Minimum Requirements
Police Officer Minimum Requirements: 
1. Age: At least 21 years old.
2. Citizenship: U.S. citizen or legal resident.
3. Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent; some agencies may require some college coursework.
4. Driver's License: Valid Oklahoma driver's license.
5. Background Check: No felony convictions; clean criminal background.
6. Physical Fitness: Must meet physical standards, including vision and hearing requirements.

Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities of a Police Officer in Oklahoma:
- Enforce local, state, and federal laws.
- Patrol assigned areas to maintain public safety and deter crime.
- Respond to emergency calls and situations, including accidents, crimes in progress, and disturbances.
- Investigate crimes by collecting evidence, interviewing witnesses and suspects.
- Make arrests when necessary and ensure suspects are properly processed.
- Write detailed reports on incidents and activities.
- Testify in court as needed.
- Engage with the community to foster positive relationships and gather intelligence.
- Conduct traffic stops and issue citations for violations.

Responsibilities of a Dispatcher in Oklahoma:
- Receive emergency and non-emergency calls from the public.
- Gather critical information from callers to assess the situation.
- Dispatch police officers, fire services, or medical responders to incidents.
- Monitor radio and communication systems to coordinate responses.
- Maintain logs and records of all communications.
- Provide support and instructions to callers in distress.
- Keep track of units in the field and ensure effective resource deployment.
- Communicate with officers and emergency personnel during incidents.
- Provide updates and assistance as needed throughout emergency responses.
- Handle stressful situations calmly and efficiently.
