Minimum Requirements
• Current Oklahoma CLEET certification or ability to obtain certification as required by Oklahoma law
• Prior law enforcement supervisory or command experience
• Demonstrated leadership and administrative abilities
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of Oklahoma criminal law, law enforcement practices, and departmental administration
• Ability to successfully complete all required background and employment requirements
Key Responsibilities
The City of Beggs is looking for a working Chief of Police who is willing to lead from the front, support and develop officers, work alongside personnel when needed, and become an active part of the Beggs community.
• Provide leadership and direction for all Police Department operations
• Supervise, mentor, and develop department personnel
• Establish and maintain professional standards, policies, and procedures
• Manage departmental scheduling, training, equipment, and resources
• Work collaboratively with city leadership and other local, county, state, and federal law enforcement agencies
• Promote proactive, professional, and community-oriented policing
• Maintain accountability, integrity, and public trust within the department
• Oversee criminal investigations, patrol operations, and other law enforcement functions
