Minimum Requirements
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Must possess current Oklahoma CLEET peace officer certification in good standing.
Must meet Oklahoma's legal eligibility requirements for employment as a peace officer.
Must possess a high school diploma or GED.
Must possess a valid Oklahoma driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Must have no disqualifying felony, domestic violence, or serious misdemeanor convictions.
Must be of good moral character and demonstrate strong ethical standards.
Must successfully complete a thorough background investigation.
Must be able to pass required drug screening, psychological evaluation, and applicable medical examinations.
Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must demonstrate proficiency in report writing, criminal investigations, traffic enforcement, and general patrol duties.
Must be capable of making sound decisions independently and under stressful conditions.
Must be willing to work nights, weekends, holidays, and varying shifts as assigned.
Must be able to testify professionally in court and maintain accurate law enforcement records.
Preferred:
Previous law enforcement patrol experience.
Experience working independently with minimal supervision.
Knowledge of Oklahoma criminal and traffic laws.
Experience with traffic enforcement, DUI investigations, and criminal investigations.
Strong community policing and interpersonal communication skills.
Current CLEET continuing education requirements completed.
Key Responsibilities
Selected officers will be responsible for proactive patrol, responding to calls for service, enforcing state laws and municipal ordinances, conducting investigations, preparing detailed reports, and maintaining positive community relationships.
