Minimum Requirements
At least 21 years old.
High-school diploma or state-recognized GED.
Proof of U.S. citizenship or resident-alien status through employment-eligibility documentation.
OSBI and FBI fingerprint checks showing no felony record.
Psychological evaluation by an Oklahoma-licensed psychologist finding the applicant suitable for service.
No pending criminal charges or deferred sentence involving:
A felony
A crime involving moral turpitude
Domestic violence
No current CLEET order revoking, suspending, or accepting surrender of the applicant’s certification.
Must satisfy the statute’s mental-health eligibility provision.
Cannot have a disqualifying conviction for a felony, crime involving moral turpitude, or domestic violence unless a full pardon applies.
Key Responsibilities
Enforce state laws and local ordinances.
Patrol the community and deter crime.
Respond to emergency and service calls.
Investigate crimes and traffic collisions.
Make lawful arrests and serve warrants.
Collect, document, and safeguard evidence.
Prepare reports and court cases.
Protect life and property.
Assist residents and manage community disputes.
Testify in court and maintain CLEET training requirements.
