Minimum Requirements

Applicants must:
• Be a United States citizen.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Possess a valid Oklahoma driver's license.
• Possess a high school diploma or GED.
• Successfully completed, or be eligible to complete, the CLEET Basic Academy.
• Have no felony convictions or convictions involving crimes of moral turpitude and not currently be under indictment for any criminal offense.
• Have no convictions within the past ten (10) years or current charges involving Driving Under the Influence (DUI).
• Have no convictions for crimes involving domestic abuse.
• Successfully complete a comprehensive background investigation, personal interviews, and MMPI evaluation.
• Meet all other applicable requirements established by the Kingfisher County Sheriff's Office and the Oklahoma Council on Law Enforcement Education and Training (CLEET).

Key Responsibilities

Deputies are responsible for patrolling assigned areas of Kingfisher County to protect life and property, preserve the peace, and promote public safety. Deputies maintain a proactive law enforcement presence through community engagement, crime prevention, and effective enforcement of applicable laws. Deputies are expected to operate department equipment safely and responsibly, uphold the constitutional rights of all individuals, and perform all duties in accordance with Kingfisher County Sheriff's Office policies and procedures, Oklahoma law, and CLEET standards. Successful candidates will demonstrate the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, accountability, and commitment to public service.

Salary/ Compensation

• Certified Deputy: $52,371.24 annually
• Non-Certified Deputy: $50,885.88 annually
