Minimum Requirements
• Be a citizen of the United States and possess a valid Oklahoma Driver License.
• Have a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Possess CLEET Certification, preferred but not required.
• Be willing to participate in written, physical, and MMPI testing.
• Successfully complete a background investigation and oral interview.
• Have no pending criminal charges.
• Have no DUI, DWI, or Reckless Driving violation within the past five years.
• Be able to relocate and reside within 35 miles of Caney.
• Be available to work all shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed or required.
Key Responsibilities
• Patrolling assigned areas of the City of Caney to maintain public safety and deter criminal activity.
• Responding promptly to emergency and non-emergency calls for service.
• Conducting preliminary investigations of crimes, accidents, disturbances, and other incidents.
• Enforcing city, state, and federal laws and ordinances.
• Making arrests and taking appropriate enforcement action when legally authorized.
• Preparing accurate and detailed incident, arrest, accident, and investigative reports.
• Conducting traffic enforcement and responding to traffic accidents.
• Providing assistance to citizens and maintaining positive relationships with the community.
• Collecting, preserving, and documenting evidence in accordance with department procedures.
• Appearing in court and providing testimony when required.
• Working cooperatively with other officers, emergency services, and outside law-enforcement agencies.
• Performing other duties as assigned by the Chief of Police or supervisory personnel.

• $38,306 annual starting salary — uncertified
• $40,560 annual starting salary — CLEET certified
