Wright City High School Senior Jaxon Hill Recognized for Leadership, Dedication to Others in Aviation Program
WRIGHT CITY, Okla. – Oklahoma Department of Aerospace and Aeronautics (ODAA) congratulates Jaxon Hill as the ODAA Aerospace Student of the Month for October 2025.
The Wright City High School senior developed a passion for aviation through his school’s program. Hill has experience with flight simulators and holds a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Part 107 drone license for commercial drone operation underscoring a practice in aerial photography and data collection.
As Hill continues his aviation pursuits, he’s furthered his knowledge in the field with tours of NASA facilities in Houston as well as Merritt Island, Fla., and by participating in Aero Day at the Oklahoma State Capitol.
“We are proud to spotlight students like Jaxon,” Paula Kedy, Statewide Aerospace STEM education manager said. “His enthusiasm for aviation has been contagious as he has continued to excel and inspire and encourage others through Wright City’s aerospace program. We have every expectation Jaxon will continue to succeed as his aerospace career takes off.”
In addition to his aviation interests, Hill holds a 4.0 GPA and is scheduled to be his class’s valedictorian. He is also the cross-country team captain and plays on the varsity baseball and basketball teams. He is a two-time state champion in baseball and a two-time state qualifier in cross country.
Aviation teacher Trish Tuck nominated Hill, citing his natural leadership skills and dedication to helping his classmates succeed. “With his strong foundation, determination, and character, there is no doubt he will soar to great heights in the world of aviation,” said Tuck.
Outside of school, Hill is a youth leader at the First Baptist Church in Wright City.
After graduating, Jaxon intends to attend Southeastern Oklahoma State University to pursue a degree in aviation. Hill plans to continue his flight training to earn his private pilot’s license. His ultimate goal is to become a professional pilot, either commercially or as a flight instructor.
