SEMINOLE, Okla. – The Oklahoma Department of Aerospace and Aeronautics (ODAA) congratulates Bradey Sims, a senior at Seminole High School, as its Aerospace Student of the Month for November 2025. This recognition celebrates Sims’s outstanding academic achievements, extensive flight training, and significant contributions to the local aviation community.

He currently holds a student pilot certificate, having passed the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Private Pilot Aeronautical Knowledge exam in February 2025. Sims has logged 90 flight hours, including more than 10 solo hours, and is actively preparing for his scheduled private pilot check ride while training with Controlled Airspace, LLC out of Seminole Municipal Airport.

“Bradey’s accomplishments in the classroom and the cockpit are a testament to his passion for aviation,” said Paula Kedy, ODAA Statewide Aerospace STEM education manager. “He is an outstanding role model for his peers, and we are excited to see him progress toward his academic and career goals.”

Beyond his flight training, Sims is a leader within his school and the community. He is a member of Mu Alpha Theta and the National Honor Society, and is the president of the SHS Technology Student Association. He is also a student member of the Experimental Aircraft Association and has flown in the Young Eagles Flight Program. Outside the classroom, he enjoys racing dirt bikes with the Oklahoma Cross Country Racing Association.

Sims is also a dedicated mentor to his peers, actively encouraging younger students to explore aviation careers through volunteering at Seminole Middle School’s Career Day and other community events.

Zane Watters, Sims’s aviation teacher, praised his student’s impact: “As a senior aviation student, Bradey is incredibly passionate and has been instrumental in encouraging others to explore and pursue the opportunities available in the aerospace community. He has a very bright future in front of him.”

Following his graduation in 2026, Bradey plans to attend college for an aviation degree. His next milestone will be to earn his instrument rating.
