Thomas Galloway joined the Department in June 2020. As an Aviation Program Manager, he is responsible for 5010-1 Master Record updates by conducting pavement and safety/standard inspections at Oklahoma’s public-use, general aviation airports. Thomas assists with developing the Airport Construction Program (ACP) and updates to the Oklahoma Airport System Plan (OASP). He also conducts airspace zoning reviews and prepares related permitting documents per the Aircraft Pilot and Passenger Protection Act (APPPA).
Before coming to the Department, Thomas worked as an Operations Specialist at the Crater Lake – Klamath Regional Airport in Klamath Falls, Oregon; in addition to a prior background in the oil and gas industry. Thomas’ educational background includes a Bachelor of Science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Prescott Campus, and Certified Member and Airport Certified Employee Designations from the American Association of Airport Executives.
Thomas is an active member of the aviation community as a private pilot in both gliders and powered aircraft as well as hang gliding. In the Civil Air Patrol, Galloway functions as a Pilot, current Assistant Aerospace Education Officer, and a former Aerospace Education Officer and Safety Officer. He is an active member of the Oklahoma Soaring Association and is a Glider Pilot. He is an Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) Lifetime Member, an EAA Chapter 24 Member, a Vintage Airplane Association (VAA) member, an AOPA Member, and a Licensed HAM Radio Operator.
