Following the announcement from the IRS, the Oklahoma Tax Commission will begin accepting and processing income tax returns for the 2021 tax year on Monday, January 24, 2022 to allow taxpayers to file early.
In addition, the OTC is following the IRS filing deadline to submit 2021 tax returns or an extension to file and pay tax owed on Monday, April 18, 2022 instead of April 15. According to the IRS, the delay is a result of Emancipation Day, a Washington D.C. holiday that acts the same as all other federal holidays. All other due dates remain the same.
