Used Motor Vehicle Complaints

Before completing the complaint process, please read the following:

If you have a complaint, please refer to our frequently asked questions here.

Our agency ONLY regulates the sale of used motor vehicles from licensed used motor vehicle dealers in the State of Oklahoma. If you purchased the vehicle from out of state, you should contact that state regarding your complaint. Individual to individual sales are a civil matter.

If the vehicle you purchased was sold “AS IS” the dealer is not responsible for any repairs needed after purchase of the vehicle. If your complaint is mechanical in nature, you should contact the dealer and discuss the problem with the dealer before filing a complaint. Often a dealer will assist a purchaser with repairs as a gesture of goodwill. Unless the mechanical issue you wish to complain about existed at the time of your purchase, or you believe it was hidden from you at the time of sale, and the cost of repair is a substantial percentage of the purchase price, this Commission cannot assist you.

All complaints must be filed with copies of documentation. Until a response from the dealer has been received, we CANNOT discuss the complaint, advise you of your options, or recommend a resolution to you. This is to ensure we are fair and impartial to both parties in our investigation.

Our agency does NOT regulate the repairs of vehicles unless it is a condition of sale.
