Child Welfare Services

What We Do

Each day, dedicated Child Welfare Services staff work to safeguard the wellbeing of Oklahoma’s children by ensuring they are safe, supported and surrounded by care. Our mission is rooted in compassion, protection, and hope. Because we believe that strong families build strong communities, we actively expand partnerships across the state to help families grow stronger and more resilient.

We champion initiatives that create nurturing environments where every child feels connected to their community, culture and heritage. These meaningful ties are essential to a child’s sense of identity and belonging.

To safely minimize a family’s level of child welfare involvement we provide families with critical support as early as possible. We continue working with other child serving agencies and community partners to expand access to behavioral health resources and other services families need for lifelong success.

Above all, we uphold the fundamental right of every child to thrive in a stable, loving family. We work tirelessly to connect children and families to the vital services they need to foster healthy development and emotional wellbeing.

Foster care

Foster families play a vital role in the child welfare system, offering a safe place for children while their families work to address safety concerns. For more information about becoming a foster parent, visit https://okfosters.org/ or call 1-800-376-9729.
