The projects below are weather permitting:

I-40 ramp closes at Anderson Rd., I-40 narrows to one lane at Choctaw Rd. Friday night

The following closures will take place Friday night as part of ongoing work in the area:

  • The westbound I-40 off-ramp to Anderson Rd. will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday to 3 a.m. Saturday
  • Westbound I-40 will be narrowed to one lane between Choctaw Rd. and Anderson Rd. from 7 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Saturday

I-40 ramps close at Anderson Rd., traffic shifts at I-240, Douglas Blvd. Monday

The following closures will be in place from 7 p.m. Monday to 6 a.m. Tuesday shift traffic as part of ongoing work in the area:

  • Westbound I-40 will be narrowed between Choctaw Rd. and I-240
  • Westbound I-40 will be narrowed to one lane between I-240 and Douglas Blvd.
  • The westbound I-40 on- and off-ramps at Anderson Blvd. will be closed from 7 p.m. Monday to 6 a.m. Tuesday
  • North and southbound Anderson Rd. will be closed under I-40 from 7 p.m. Monday through 11 p.m. Wednesday, April 10

Once work is completed westbound I-40 traffic will be shifted through 2024. 

I-40 narrows at Douglas Blvd. in Midwest City through 2025

Eastbound and westbound I-40 are narrowed to two lanes in each direction between Town Center Dr. in Midwest City and the I-240 interchange with lane shifts and intermittent ramp closures through 2025. Drivers should use caution as there are no shoulders or merge distances, or use I-240 and US-62/N. 23rd St. This is a two-year highway interchange reconstruction and 6-mile interstate widening project.

  • The westbound I-40 off-ramp to Douglas Blvd. is now open
  • The westbound I-40 on-ramp at Douglas Blvd. is closed
  • The westbound I-40 off-ramp to Industrial Blvd. is permanently closed
  • A protected turnaround is now open at Town Center Dr. Westbound I-40 drivers wanting to access Industrial Blvd. will be able to continue to Town Center Dr. and use the protected turnaround onto eastbound I-40 and exit at Industrial Blvd. 
  • Drivers should be aware the temporary lights are still in place along S.E. 29th St. and Industrial Blvd. and continue to expect congestion, especially during peak travel times. While the westbound I-40 off-ramp to Douglas Blvd will reopen, accessing the Hruskocy Gate from Douglas Blvd. is discouraged, and drivers wanting to access the gate should use the new protected turnaround. 
  • Northbound and southbound Westminster Rd. is closed at S.E. 44th St. in Oklahoma City just south of I-40. Westminster Rd. remains closed over I-40 through June as part of ongoing work in the area. Drivers can use S.E. 59th St. and S.E. 29th St. to Anderson Rd. as a detour.
  • Eastbound S.E. 29th St. will be narrowed to one thru lane, a right-only turn lane and two left turn lanes at Douglas Blvd. in Midwest City through spring 2024 as part of ongoing work related to the I-40 and Douglas Blvd. interchange. Motorists are advised to use extra caution in the area as traffic adjusts to the change.
  • The left lane of the eastbound I-40 off-ramp to Town Center Dr./Eaker Gate is closed through spring 2025

I-35 ramp closes at S.E. 82nd St., service road reopens Saturday

The following closures will take place at 8 a.m. Saturday as part of ongoing work in the area:

  • The northbound I-35 on-ramp from S.E. 82nd St. will permanently close 
  • The southeast I-35 service road between S.E. 82nd St. and Crossroads Blvd. will reopen

I-240 narrows at I-35 through 2025

The following closures are scheduled for east and westbound I-240, S.E. 59th St., Pole Rd. and I-240/I-35 service roads as part of a multi-phase interchange improvement project:

  • Crossroads Blvd. is narrowed to one lane in each direction through 2025 for bridge replacement.
  • The westbound I-240 on-ramp from S.E. 74th St. is closed
  • The northeast I-240 service road/S.E. 74th St. is closed to through traffic between Eastern Ave. and Crossroads Blvd. through January 2025
  • S.E. 59th St. is intermittently narrowed for construction of a new turnaround.
  • The eastbound I-240 off-ramp to Pole Rd. is closed permanently.
  • Eastbound and westbound I-240 and frontage roads will be intermittently narrowed for pavement rehabilitation.
  • Eastbound and westbound I-240 will be narrowed to replace a railroad bridge.
  • Northbound I-35 off-ramp to eastbound I-240 will be intermittently narrowed for construction of a new ramp.

Drivers can expect lane and ramp closures throughout the project, full weekend closures of I-240, as well as increased congestion in the area, especially during peak travel times.

Drivers should locate an alternate route or add additional travel time. Drivers can use I-40 as an alternate route or locate one using the Drive Oklahoma app.

I-44 narrows to one lane at S.W. 89th St. daily Monday-Wednesday

Eastbound I-44 (runs north) will be narrowed to one lane between S.W. 89th St. and S.W. 74th St. from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday and again Tuesday and Wednesday for surface repairs. The off-ramp to S.W. 74th St. will also be closed on Wednesday.

 

Oklahoma Turnpike Authority

The projects below are weather permitting:

I-44/Turner Turnpike shoulder closures near Heyburn through summer

Motorists can expect shoulder closures on the I-44/Turner Turnpike between mm 201-203 near Heyburn in Creek County through summer as work begins to widen the turnpike to six lanes in this area. Motorists can expect narrow lanes through the remainder of the 6-mile work zone toward Bristow as well as reduced speed limits. SH-66 will be intermittently narrowed where it intersects with the I-44/Turner Turnpike at mm 202 through fall for the construction of new interchange ramps.

 

Ongoing Highway Construction Projects

I-35, I-44 narrowed near N. 63rd St. through 2025

The following closures are in place through 2025 for bridge reconstruction:

  • Eastbound I-44 is narrowed to one lane at I-35 through fall.
  • The northbound Lincoln Blvd. on-ramp to westbound I-44 is narrowed without shoulders.
  • The eastbound I-44 on-ramp from Martin Luther King Ave. will be closed until further notice
  • The northbound I-35 off-ramp to N. 63rd St. is closed through fall.
  • The left lane of eastbound I-44 is closed between Martin Luther King Ave. and I-35/I-44 junction.
  • The westbound I-44 off-ramp to Martin Luther King Ave. is closed through April 2024.
  • Eastbound and westbound N. 63rd street is closed between Bryant Ave. and Martin Luther King Ave. Use Bryant Ave. and Martin Luther King Ave. as alternate routes.
  • Northbound and southbound I-35 is narrowed to two lanes in each direction between N. 50th St. and Wilshire Blvd.
  • Westbound I-44 is narrowed to one lane from Wilshire Blvd. to Martin Luther King Ave.
  • The southbound I-35 on-ramp from Bryant Ave. is permanently closed.

I-35 narrows at SH-9W, Goldsby through 2026

North and southbound I-35 will be intermittently narrowed between SH-9W and Main St. in Goldsby through 2026 for corridor widening and an intersection improvement project.

The project will convert the I-35 and SH-9W interchange into a Diverging Diamond Interchange, widen I-35 to six lanes between SH-9W and Main St. in Goldsby and add two roundabouts along SH-9W service roads.

US-281/Rt. 66 Bridgeport Bridge in Caddo County closed through summer 2024

The US-281/Rt. 66 Bridgeport Bridge over the South Canadian River in Caddo County is closed to traffic through summer 2024 for a bridge rehabilitation project. Motorists are advised to use the US-281 Business Spur (I-40 exit at mm 108) and I-40 (mm 101-108) as alternate routes.

Midwest Blvd. closes, I-240 narrowed through April

All lanes of north and southbound Midwest Blvd. are closed at I-240 through April 2024 as part of a bridge replacement project. I-240 will be intermittently narrowed with speed reductions at Midwest Blvd., between Douglas Blvd. and Air Depot Blvd., throughout the project. Drivers should use extra caution in the area. 

SH-66 narrows in Edmond, Arcadia through 2025

SH-66 will be intermittently narrowed to one lane between Post Rd. in Edmond and Luther Rd. in Luther through summer 2025 for resurfacing and widening. Motorists should expect:

  • SH-66 to be narrowed to one lane in each direction between Post Rd. and Westminster Rd.
  • SH-66 to be intermittently narrowed to one lane between Anderson Rd. and Luther Rd. with a traffic signal and speed reductions.
  • SH-66 lanes are shifted to the south between Post Rd. and Westminster Rd. through fall

SH-66, US-81 narrow to one lane in El Reno through 2025

The following closures will be in place at the SH-66/US-81 intersection in El Reno through 2025 for roundabout construction:

  • East and westbound SH-66 will be narrowed to one lane in each direction at US-81
  • North and southbound US-81 will be narrowed to one lane in each direction at SH-66
  • S.E. 27th St. will be closed to thru traffic throughout the project

At least one lane will remain open during construction, however, there will be some temporary detours in place as crews work to shift lanes between construction phases. Drivers should plan additional travel time in the area and expect delays. 

SH-3 narrowed to one lane near US-81 through April

East and westbound SH-3 is narrowed to one lane in each direction near US-81, south of Okarche in Canadian Co. through April for routine bridge work.
