Proposed improvements to SH-82 in Cherokee County to be highlighted February 13

Tuesday, February 11, 2020

The Oklahoma Department of Transportation is hosting an open house on Thursday, Feb. 13 for proposed improvements to SH-82 near Cookson in Cherokee County.

The project would make safety improvements from four miles south of the SH-82/SH-100 near Cookson and extending north nearly four miles. This segment is currently two lanes with varying widths of shoulders. The proposals include widening the highway and adding shoulders, re-configuring intersections and improving two bridges in this corridor. The project is tentatively scheduled to let for construction in 2023.

Maps of the proposals will be available for viewing and the public will be able to ask questions and provide feedback on the projects. This will be come-and-go format with no formal presentation.
