Agency Mission

The Oklahoma Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology is the only agency in the state regulating health care services in the area of communicative disorders of the speech, language and hearing mechanisms.  The mission of the Oklahoma Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology is to regulate the practices of speech-language pathology and audiology in order to protect the health, safety and welfare of the public and to support practitioners in their professional endeavors.

Agency Vision

The ability to communicate effectively is inseparable from the ability to succeed in educational, vocational and social endeavors. As the sole agency in the state of Oklahoma concerned with the regulation of health care services in the areas of communication disorders of the speech, language and hearing mechanisms, the Oklahoma Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology is committed to ensuring that Oklahomans have access to competent, comprehensive and ethical care.  The Board desires to partner with practitioners, the Oklahoma Speech-Language-Hearing Association, other interested agencies and the public in this endeavor.  Furthermore, this agency seeks to provide efficient and courteous service to both licensees and the public on an ongoing basis.
